How creativity seems to colour every day of my life

Donaghadee...

4 October 2010

On Saturday we took a short visit to Donaghadee.
We parked the car next to the Harbour and walked along the sea wall.

Now and again the tides wash huge amounts of dead seaweed up onto the beach...  When I came home I found myself looking up surfbirds.com to work out what the colourful little bird was called... a turnstone...

Although it really stank... the various gulls and waders just loved the smelly mass...

Every so often the waves would break against the seaweed and rocks beneath it and the gulls would all lift into the air... and settle again once the surface became smooth again.

The buildings along the seafront are painted in beautiful subtle sea side colours...

The gulls seemed to be having a lot of fun with the waves...

Some of the juvenile ones even seemed to search out the start of the breaking wave... ready for some fun.

Others were searching for food... or considering whether to go for a swim...

The harbour and sea was very calm... I thought the lighthouse looked striking
against the grey blue of the sky and sea...
