with the sound of buzzing...
the nest of orange bottomed bumble bees was dug up one night by the badger...
the echinacea was always covered with bumble bees, hover flies and wasps...
Paul has piles of logs... here and there... for insects to over winter... his hedge has lots of twigs and hedge clippings... to give cover for mice... adders etc... they also have toads in the garden...
my brother used to keep honey bees... the hives are still there... but he no longer works with them as he has developed a severe allergy to their stings...
there were virtually no greenfly to be seen anywhere... on the other hand there were lots of ladybirds...
